ABOUT P.G. DIPLOMA COURSE IN YOGA

Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. Yoga is 5,000-year-old system purely originated in India, which aims to transform both body and mind and is very much relevant even today. Yoga is a comprehensive methodology evolved by the ancient seers, which embodies physical, psychological, moral and spiritual dimensions of human life. Yoga is an advanced science with the strength of rigorous theoretical frame work supported by scientifically proved practical techniques.

Yoga is a scientific system that fosters healthy development of the physique and balanced development of the psyche. Yoga helps in promoting positive health, prevention of stress related health problems and rehabilitation. It also gives an integral approach to common ailments. Yoga also sharpens one’s mental faculties improving attention and concentration. Its miraculous benefits for health, concentration, will power, stress management, personality development, human values, interpersonal relations and spiritual evolution are being highly appreciated now all sections of the society all over the world

In this regard, we should like to bring to your kind notice that on 11th Dec 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared 21st June as the International Yoga Day. The declaration came after the call for the adoption of 21st June as International Yoga Day by Honorable Indian Prime Minister, Sri. Narendra Modi during his address to UN General Assembly on September 27, 2014. It indicates the global recognition and importance of Yoga. There is huge demand for qualified Yoga Teachers. Due to a dearth of experienced and professionally qualified yoga teachers, there is a necessity for Professional Training Institutes and Courses.

Increasing Need for Qualified Yoga Teachers:

            Due to recent advances in Science and Technology, the lifestyles of the modern people have drastically changed to such an alarming extent that, this very lifestyle being adopted is leading to innumerable health problems, mental stresses and strains, family problems and social tensions and pressures. We are happy to note that, State Council of Educational Research & Training, UGC, AICTE, and other such National bodies have made Yoga training mandatory in higher educational institutions.

            Today Yoga is being accepted as a system of Complimentary Alternative Medicine and as a Lifestyle Management Program. As a result, there is lot of demand in the society to learn yoga. This demand has further increased due to the recent awareness created due to the celebration of the first International Day of Yoga, 2015. However, the professionally qualified teachers available are very few. Therefore, there is an urgent need for Yoga Teacher Training courses and institutes all over India.

About Yoga Consciousness Trust

Yoga Consciousness Trust (YCT) is a registered public charitable trust formed in 1983 by a group of sadhakas trained by poojya Gurudev His Holiness Yogacharya Raparthi Rama Raoji for the propagation of Anustana Yoga Vedanta.

Yoga Consciousness, the Divine Experience

Everybody is experiencing the three states of consciousness namely wakeful, dream and deep sleep state. Beyond these three states is the state of Yoga consciousness, the divine experience. By attaining the Yoga Consciousness, one will be in harmony with Universal Consciousness, which will bring everlasting bliss, the ultimate goal of human life.

By systematic training in the physical, mental and spiritual planes through the method of Anushtana Yoga Vedanta, one’s body, mind and heart will be in harmony. By this one can attain yoga consciousness and perfect integrated personality, the key to blissful living.

For achieving the above aims, YCT is conducting many training programs in traditional gurusampradaya. All the courses are open to everyone regardless of sex, social status, religion, race or nationality.

Mission

The mission of Yoga Consciousness Trust is to develop the individual personality in its entirety (physical, mental, emotional & spiritual planes) through systematic practice of Yoga and Vedanta in daily life. The main aim is to help experience firsthand the states of Yoga Consciousness and know one’s True Self.

YCT methodology is rooted in the Himalayan tradition of H.H. Ramlal Prabhuji. By a systematic training in Yoga and Vedanta the Guru awakens the inner Chaitanya (Divine Energy), to help the individual transcend from darkness to light.

Gurudev

His Holiness Yogacharya Raparti Rama Raoji was born on the night of 30th September 1923 at Vizinigiri, Vizianagaram District of Andhra Pradesh. A sincere devotee right from childhood he practiced ascetic, traditional and devotional methods to attain self-realization.

Graduated in Arts & Education, he has chosen the profession of teaching to realize the goal of life in preference to other jobs. First appointment as teacher was at Ichapuram in the year 1948. Married at the age of 24 to Smt. Chitti Mahalakshmi, he lead the life of a house holder.

Completed post-graduation in English literature and History. Mastered Astrology, psychology, Vedic scriptures Upanishads, different branches of Yoga. Registered as a Medical Practitioner in Homeopathy. Retired in 1978 as principal of Government junior college.

Met his Guru His Holiness Kundala Gangayya Prabhuji at Ichapuram who guided him through his Yoga practices. Attained Nirvikalpa Samadhi in 1955. Since then he remained in ‘sahaja avastha’ and did not reveal himself till retirement. Dedicated himself to the propagation of yoga on the direction of his guru since 1979.

Conducted Anushtana Yoga Vedanta classes to all people irrespective of caste, creed, sex, religion, nationality and age. Also held Yogacharya residential courses of one year duration at Ramathirtha Institute of Peace, Santhi Ashram.

Held the post of Vice president, Mission of peace, Santhi Ashram and Swami Ramathirtha Institute of Peace. He is the Spiritual Head of Yoga Consciousness Trust.

Guided many senior sadhakas who had higher yoga experiences and are in turn training numerous students of yoga under His guidance.

Visited Australia in 1994 to spread the message of Yoga.

After guiding numerous devotees remaining in seclusion at YCT, Yoga Chaitanyaramam, Vizinigiri, Gurudev attained Mahasamadhi in the early hours of 8th Oct 2014.
